Government car scrappage scheme?

I am hopefully going banger racing in summer and I want to know how to get hold of one of the cars that was traded in under the government scrappage scheme of old cars to use as my race car for the day. After the event the cars are totalled and weighed in for scrap anyway so the end result would be the same as if the dealer had taken them to the scrap merchants themselves. Does anyone know if this is possible and if it is, how to do it?

Ignore the daft Yank answers. To banger race on most tracks the car must still have its vin plates intact. This means it hasn’t gone through the scrap process. All these scrappage cars have been declared scrap by the supplier of the used car and must only be used for parts or crushed. You cannot get them without a scrap license I’m afraid.

Scrappage scheme has ruined cheaper used market as well as the banger boys. Complete junk now fetches £500.
