Webwarehouse Helping A Latin American Children’s Charity With Their Storage Requirements

When reading this article in the local Milton Keynes citizen http://www.miltonkeynes.co.uk/news/Search-is-on-for-new.6080626.jp WebWarehouse leapt into action.

Can you put a roof over Pedro the pinata’s head?

Even if you don’t have a stable there’s one cute donkey to which you could give a home. Pedro the piñata is one colourful toy out of many belonging to Bletchley-based charity Toybox, an organisation which helps street children in Latin America.

He is among an array of weird and wonderful items, such as Latin American piñatas, rain sticks, mannequins, foot-spas and plastic sunflowers, which need a home. Their re-homing would save the charity at least £1,200 a year in storage. The equipment is used at more than nine festivals and events over the year where Toybox brings the voices of street children to a wide audience, encouraging people to become child sponsors or campaign for children’s rights.

Pictured with Pedro is the charity’s events coordinator, Justin Bloomfield. He said: “Although this is not the most glamorous appeal, it is very important to our work.” In a time of financial hardship, this gift-in-kind would be a great way to support the work of the charity. Toybox needs around five metres squared of ground space up to a height of three metres. Access would be around once a month and once a fortnight in the summer.

Simon Varlow explains we have been looking for a local charity to support when we are doing our various wacky races across Europe in one hundred pound bangers. Reading this article and looking at the web site I really like the look of the work that Toybox were doing and arranged to visit them to see how Webwarehouse could help not only on their pallet storage requirement but there fund raising as well. Steve Thorn, Toyboxes marketing director says “Thanks for coming in at such short notice yesterday, and for your follow-up email. We’re very interested in working with you and promoting your assistance with our storage needs.” Toyboxes staff and 21,000 supporters are interested in the Webwarehouse charity rally.

So this looks like it could be a perfect match for the Milton Keynes based commercial storage business and the children’s charity. We look forward to a prosperous working relationship in the future.
