I was thinking of taking my car over to France this year for the first time?

and I asked a friend of mine what it was like.
He told me it was ok as soon as you get used to driving on the right.
I thought I would practise this over here for a week to see how I got on.
I am now a nervous wreck and the car looks like it has been in a banger race.
Was he telling me the truth?
I can`t see this situation working anywhere.
